Tristan Karaffa
Tristan is a 4th Degree Black Belt, Certified Instructor, and Level 3 Judge. He began his Taekwondo journey at the age of six and has continued to pursue his passion for martial arts throughout his life. As a young adult, Tristan graduated from Songahm University with an associate degree and fulfilled his dream of becoming an ATA Licensee and entrepreneur. Today, he is proud to lead Visionary Martial Arts and share his passion for Taekwondo with the community.
Adam Karaffa
Adam is a 4th Degree Black Belt, Certified Instructor, and Level 3 Judge. He began his Taekwondo journey alongside his son in 2013 and has since earned several State and District Champion titles, as well as rankings among the top competitors in the world. While competition has been an important part of his journey, Adam finds the greatest reward in the friendships, families, and lasting relationships he has built through Taekwondo.

JP Mahlmeister
JP is a 5th Degree Black Belt and Level 3 Judge. He began his Taekwondo journey at the age of 10 after trying several other sports and discovering that martial arts was the perfect fit for him. From his very first class, JP developed a passion for Taekwondo that has continued for more than 30 years. He is proud to share that lifelong passion with students at Visionary Martial Arts.

Mr. Cain
Mr. Cain is a 3rd Degree Black Belt and Certified Instructor. He began his Taekwondo journey in May 2019 after years of cheering on his son, Jacob, from outside the ring. His competitive spirit, eagerness to learn, and desire to spend more time training alongside his son inspired him to take on the Orange Belt Challenge. Since then, he has developed a passion for instruction and enjoys helping students grow, build confidence, and reach their goals.
Clarissa Tinkey
Clarissa is a 3rd Degree Black Belt and Level 2 Instructor at Visionary Martial Arts. She began training in Taekwondo at the age of eight and has become a decorated competitor, earning third-place world titles in combat sparring and multiple district championships. As she continues her education, Clarissa is working toward her goal of one day opening her own Taekwondo school. She credits Taekwondo with teaching her discipline, patience, and perseverance and looks forward to inspiring the next generation of martial artists.

Mrs. Tricia Petrilla
Tricia is a 2nd Degree Black Belt and has been training in Taekwondo since 2018 alongside her daughter, Calli. She enjoys competing both individually and as a member of the Oakmonsters Combat Sparring Team. Throughout her journey, she has earned two District Champion titles and a Level 1 Judging Certification. Tricia continues to enjoy growing as a martial artist while sharing her Taekwondo journey with her family and team.

Can I compete in Taekwondo tournaments?
Yes, Taekwondo tournaments are available for all levels and ages. There are local, regional, national, and international competitions available throughout the year. Visionary Martial Arts also hosts its own in-school tournament twice a year!
What is Taekwondo?
Taekwondo is a Korean martial art that focuses on strikes, kicks, and defensive techniques.
What style of martial arts do you teach?
We are an ATA affiliated school teaching Taekwondo
What should I wear?
A uniform is provided with your membership. 5 class should wear comfortable clothing. We also offer several t-shirt days throughout the month that allow students to wear a martial arts t-shirt instead of the full uniform.
Are there extra fees or long term contracts?
No, our fees are posted throughout the facility and communicated accordingly. Our base fee is $175 per month. Testing fees are $60. Once a student achieves the rank of camo belt they will begin sparring and need safety gear. We do not have any long-term contracts. We do offer commitment based discounts for six-month or twelve-month commitments.
Can you accommodate children with special needs?
Yes, we have personal experience in this matter! By being inclusive, providing structure, encouragement, and positive reinforcement, we allow everyone to progress at their own pace. We understand that everyone is different, we work with limitations, and focus on a positive atmosphere!
Am I allowed to watch my child's classes?
Absolutely, we encourage parents to take advantage of our spacious lobby and be proactive in your child's training.
What trial programs do you offer?
We offer a 5 classes trial for $5! All memberships include a uniform and unlimited classes, this is an incredible value meant to build rapport and confidence!
What are the age groups for your programs?
Our Tiger program is for ages 3–7, our youth program is for ages 7–12, and our teen and adult program is for ages 13 and up.
